Oxygen Design was engaged to lead a comprehensive rebranding initiative for the Norwalk Historical Society, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Norwalk, Connecticut. The project aimed to modernize the Society’s visual identity while honoring its rich maritime heritage dating back to 1650.
At the heart of the rebrand was the design of a new logo and graphic identity, centered on a stylized schooner—chosen to reflect the speed, power, and historical significance of Norwalk’s seafaring roots. The updated identity was developed to resonate with both longtime residents and new audiences, bringing a fresh energy to the Society’s public presence.
Oxygen Design implemented the new brand system across multiple platforms, including:
• Main Museum Signage and Historic Site Wayfinding – Reinforcing brand recognition throughout Norwalk’s cultural and historical landmarks.
• Print Communications and Marketing Materials – Including brochures, exhibit catalogs, newsletters, and event collateral.
• Website Redesign – A fully overhauled digital experience that improved content accessibility, visitor engagement, and educational outreach.
By marrying tradition with modern design principles, Oxygen Design helped the Norwalk Historical Society reposition itself as a dynamic and inclusive institution, better equipped to serve its community and engage future generations.
