WESTON AT WORK
The Agriculture exhibit centers on Weston’s farm traditions and innovations from the 19th through early 20th centuries. Organized seasonally around the Coley Barn’s 1908 Lockwood Baler (a local invention), the design follows the rhythms of planting, harvest, and winter labor. Panels and artifacts reveal how technological change, immigrant labor, and market expansion reshaped local farming. Displays of tools, patent diagrams, and primary documents bring to life the evolution from ox-drawn plows to mechanized equipment. The result highlights Weston’s adaptation, ingenuity, and the enduring role of agriculture in shaping community identity.
